Project Fatherhood
Project Fatherhood supports families involved with or at risk of involvement with the child welfare or criminal justice systems in Los Angeles County. We take a whole-family, trauma-informed approach — recognizing that children thrive when their parents are supported and stable.
All services are free and include:
-
Parenting Support: Weekly classes, peer mentoring, and coaching to strengthen parent-child relationships.
-
Job Placement: Skills-building, employer connections, and referrals to career training programs.
-
Case Management: One-on-one support to help parents access services and remove barriers.
-
Legal Aid: Help with custody, visitation, and related legal matters.
-
Resource Navigation: Referrals for housing, food, child care, transportation, addiction recovery, and health care.
We also offer direct support for children, including:
-
Education & Development: Tutoring, enrichment, play therapy, IEP/504 plan support, and developmental screenings.
-
Regional Center Coordination: Help enrolling eligible children and advocating for services for developmental disabilities.
If you think we should keep the Project Fatherhood FAQs, we will need a lot of revisions, starting with the first question, “What is Project Fatherhood?”:
-
An intensive clinical case management program with weekly parenting support groups and parent education classes.
